First time at UXLx? Here’s everything you need to know

26 February 2026

Are you a first time UXLxer? How exciting! 🤗 To make this incredible learning experience as smooth as possible, we've gathered everything you might want to know before stepping through the glass doors of the PT Meeting Centre and beginning your first UXLx experience.

What’s included in my ticket?

Your ticket type determines how many masterclasses, workshops, and talks you can attend, but every UXLx ticket also includes:

  • A “Welcome Pack”;
  • Full lunch and coffee breaks (during the ticket dates). With options for vegans and vegetarians. Leadership & Strategy Day also includes a 3-course networking dinner;
  • Free access to the Welcome Party and the After Party;
  • Workshop slides of the workshops/masterclasses you attend (if speakers decide to share them);
  • Talks slides (if speakers decide to share them);
  • Certificate of attendance.

Which workshops can I attend?

There’s a total of 8 workshops that cover multiple topics - AI experiences, Content, Research Ops, Systems Thinking, Service Design, Inclusive Design, and Design Systems - so you can build your ideal training plan. The number of workshops you can attend depends on the ticket you have:

  • 3 Days Ticket — 4 workshops
  • 2 Days W+F Ticket — 2 workshops
  • 2 Days T+F Ticket — 2 workshops

How and when to register for the workshops?

You can register for the workshops you want to attend. The registration is done online and will open on 13 April 2026 at 3PM (Lisbon time). On that day you will receive a link to register on your e-mail.

Workshop seats will be available first come first served until the room capacity is reached.

What if I don’t register online?

There will also be an option to register in-person at the UXLx 2026 check-in desk during the event dates, for the workshop seats still available by then.

What if I want to change my picks?

In case you change your mind and want to attend a workshop that better suits your training needs, you can do it online until the event dates or during UXLx at the check-in desks, as long as there’s still room in that workshop.

💡 TIP: We advise you to check the full programme on our website beforehand. There you’ll find all workshops available and a short summary of what will be covered.

Where do I pick up my registration badge?

You can get your badge at the Check-in Desk on the day of your Ticket.

Check-in opens at 8:30 every day.

On the first day (12 May), masterclasses start at 9:30.

If you're joining us for the workshop days (13 & 14 May), workshops start at 10:00. This year we’re kicking off these two days at UXLx the right way. From 9h to 10h it’s Networking Coffee time! ☕️🤙 An easy, low-pressure way to meet fellow UXers and connect before the day gets busy with learning.

In the final day, talks start at 10h. If this is your first day, we advise you to come a bit early to pick up your badge and Welcome Pack, take a cup of coffee and mingle with fellow UXLxers before getting a seat at the auditorium.

Are the sessions recorded and slides shared?

Both masterclasses and workshops at UXLx are meant to be a safe space for attendees to collaborate and feel free to share thoughts and experiences. For that reason they are not recorded.

When speakers give us permission, we share the session slides with those who attended the masterclass/workshop on the days after the conference.

Talks are recorded. We’ll start releasing the videos from the Talks Day on our UXLx Videos page, gradually, when we launch the next UXLx event. We also share the talk slides when speakers share them with us and give their permission to do so.

Where’s the venue located and how to get there?

The FIL Meeting Centre is located right in the heart of the most recently renovated Lisbon Eastern Business District - Parque das Nações (Nation’s Park) - and overlooks the beautiful Tagus river.

It’s easily accessible by public transportation. If you’re staying in the city centre you can reach the venue in around 20 minutes by metro. If you’re staying in Parque das Nações you’re probably within a short walk.

You’ll find the surroundings quite enjoyable. During the lunch break you can soak up the sun in the gardens nearby or even stretch your legs with a stroll along the river. Other attractions include one of the largest aquariums in the world, Europe’s second longest bridge, a cable car, a shopping centre, a casino, and plenty of restaurant options.

How can I connect with other UXLxers during the conference?

One of the things that makes UXLx such a unique experience is bringing together peers from dozens of countries all around the world (23 countries already confirmed). This means people from a wide range of fields and dimensions, different backgrounds and experiences. There are plenty of networking opportunities during the day, as well as at the side events.

  • During the conference we have several breaks throughout the day where you can connect with everyone.
  • The workshops are often hands-on so you’ll most likely find yourself collaborating in small groups.
  • We host a Welcome Party and an After Party which are great places to share ideas and make connections with peers, in a more relaxed setting (over drinks and nibbles).

What about the speakers?

Our speakers are always willing to chat so they also mingle with attendees outside sessions. We encourage our speakers to stay for the whole event and join our networking sessions, so there’s always the opportunity to have one-on-one chats with them.

It’s also my first time in Lisbon. Do you have any tips?

Exploring Lisbon will definitely be the cherry on top your perfect conference experience. Lisbon is a budget-friendly city, with quite affordable price for food, drink, public transportation, and accommodation. It’s also one of the safest European capitals. In May, you’ll likely have sunny days - perfect for a stroll around downtown or enjoy the sunset in one of the viewpoints. You’ll see there’s a lot to discover - from music, to culture, history and delicious gastronomy.

What’s the weather like in late May?

You can expect bright sunny days and a warm temperature, around 22ºC.

However the evenings might get a bit chilly (13ºC) so you better pack some warmer clothes also. UV levels are normally quite high so don’t forget the sunscreen.
