Taking DesignOps to the Next Level

Enabling DesignOps at scale brings the promise of effective transformation for design teams—their capabilities, performance, and business outcomes. But what does it take to operationalize this within your own organization?

During this highly-collaborative session you will explore your team's DesignOps needs, and collaborate with experts and colleagues to define practical next steps to take in improving design quality, delivery, productivity, value to the business, and outcomes. Co-designing ways in which you can better support and build sustainable design team health through elevating the practice of world-class design, team culture, and operational excellence within your own organization.

Jenny Price will lead you through a series of IBM Design Thinking exercises that will help you bring back ideas for building and scaling DesignOps within your core team, wider design program, and at the organizational level.

During this hands-on, team-based workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to assess and ideate on their organization's approach to scaling DesignOps by:

  • Exploring strategies for advancing DesignOps across your organization
  • Engaging with other DesignOps and Design Program leaders who are interested in solving for pain-points
  • Ideating using several IBM Design Thinking exercises
  • Selecting concepts that will be the most useful for your organization
  • Developing a 30-60-90 day roadmap specifically for your organization to explore further iteration
  • Learning more about DesignOps resources, methodologies, and applications

Workshop Goals:

  • Uncover setbacks driving DesignOps and Design Program organizational transformation
  • Learn how to navigate DesignOps and Design Program challenges and facilitate human-centric design transformation
  • Construct a scaleable starter DesignOps roadmap to share back to your organization

Attendees can be new to DesignOps or experienced in the topic and can span roles from: UX Design Managers, UX Design Executives, UX Researchers, or Individual Contributors to a UX team that is looking to grow in this area.
